About WTT
WTT (Waste Treatment Technologies) is a global specialist in advanced waste processing systems, with a strong focus on biological treatment technologies such as composting and anaerobic digestion. With decades of experience, WTT develops and delivers turnkey solutions that help municipalities and private operators turn organic waste into valuable resources - from compost to renewable biogas. Their innovative technologies are deployed in facilities across the world, supporting the transition to a circular and sustainable waste economy.
WTT (Waste Treatment Technologies)
Transportable dry anaerobic digestion plant for remote and temporary locations
Eight 40ft containers
WTT developed a pioneering new solution: the Transportable Biogas Plant (TBP) - a mobile dryAD installation designed to bring clean energy and sustainable waste treatment to temporary and remote sites. The system, built into eight interconnected 40ft containers, allows municipalities, governments, and investors to experience WTT’s technology in action, assess gas output, and evaluate the potential for full-scale implementation.
The challenge lay in turning this innovative concept into a fully manufacturable, reliable, and relocatable physical system - while maintaining strict adherence to WTT’s proprietary design and process technology.
WTT entrusted NieuweWeme with the task of engineering their system for production and managing the complete build. Working within WTT’s design parameters, our team ensured every mechanical, electrical, and process component was accurately integrated and installed across the eight containers.
We carried out all container modifications, welding, piping, field cabling, and assembly in-house, translating WTT’s concept into a robust, real-world solution ready for on-site operation. Throughout the project, we worked in close coordination with WTT’s engineering team to ensure the system was built exactly to spec, with full respect for their IP and process logic.
The first TBP units have already been deployed in India, where they operate as a fully functional demonstration systems. After its pilot phase, it can be dismantled and relocated, enabling new stakeholders in different regions to engage with WTT’s technology.
NieuweWeme’s ability to engineer for production and deliver complex, containerized systems at scale helped WTT bring this bold vision to life—without compromise, and without ever relinquishing control of their technology.
