The Challenge

‍To help solve grid congestion and enable faster deployment of local energy infrastructure, Eaton developed a mobile E-House solution—a pre-assembled, modular unit that delivers medium-voltage capacity where and when it’s needed most. These containerized substations offer a temporary or permanent boost to the electricity grid, designed for rapid deployment across industrial locations, logistics centers, and EV charging hubs.

Eaton needed a manufacturing partner with the technical skills and in-house capabilities to not only build the units but also create custom enclosures that would also be cost effective and meet strict functional and environmental standards.

Our Approach

NieuweWeme partnered with Eaton to deliver the custom-built E-House units, with a focus on the manufacturing and housing of the mobile power systems. Each housing was custom made and outfitted in-house to meet the demands of medium-voltage switchgear integration, climate control, cable entry systems, and safety features.

Our team worked closely with Eaton’s engineers to ensure every system was manufactured exactly to spec, including cut-outs, reinforcements, and insulation tailored to the electrical layout inside. Thanks to our in-house welding, custom housing, and assembly capabilities, we were able to streamline production while maintaining the flexibility required for this type of modular
