With the introduction of a deposit system on cans, the demand for efficient return systems has increased significantly. NieuweWeme Containerized Solutions, in collaboration with RVM Systems (the main contractor for this project), has developed an innovative solution to optimize the deposit process and reduce litter. The result is the mobile bulk deposit machine, which has been put into operation for the first time in Zwolle. This system offers a flexible and scalable way to facilitate large-scale deposit returns at high-traffic locations.

A smart solution for more efficient deposit management

Supermarkets and other return points often struggle with long lines at deposit machines, while events and public locations frequently lack any permanent deposit return infrastructure. The deposit container developed by RVM Systems and produced by NieuweWeme offers an efficient and flexible solution that tackles these challenges.

The deposit machine inside this container is a so-called bulk feed machine, which allows you to deposit up to 100 cans or plastic PET bottles at once—just empty your shopping bag straight into the machine!

✔ Automatic refund via Tikkie – Users receive their deposit refund directly through Tikkie, meaning no paper receipts or lines at the checkout. There’s also an option to easily donate the deposit to a charity.

✔ Sustainable and circular – Collecting deposit containers in a central location improves recycling efficiency and helps reduce litter at busy locations such as festivals and train stations.

✔ Fully customizable – The containers can be branded, wrapped, or stickered in the client’s corporate style. A version with wooden paneling is also available for a more subtle integration into public spaces.
